Starboard Foil Team Carbon Windfoil Set
The 2019 Starboard Windfoil Team Set is 4 foil sets in 1. The Race, Ultra, GT and Race are included the Team Set with the Starboard Carbon 95cm mast, 2 fusalages 2 front wings and 2 back wings, those can combine to make the 4 Starboard foil sets.
In light winds, 6-15 knots use the bigger wings and the above 15 knots use the smaller wings.
95cm carbon mast. The Starboard Carbon mast is constructed with 40 layers of wrapped hi-modulus uni-axial, bi-axial, tri-axial Toray carbon that is hydraulically pressed, heated and fused so it is stiff and torsionally rigid. The stiffer a foil is the more stable it is.
2 aluminum fuselages are included in the 2018 Starboard Team Foil Set. Starboard conducted A-B testing with 6061 aluminium versus carbon and found that aluminium fuselages are tougher, stronger and torsionally more rigid.
75cm fuselage – Freeride and slalom oriented
115cm fuselage – Awesome upwind and downwind preformance and early planing power. Also adds stability for progressing foilers.
Wings (wings are measured in sq cm)
800cm carbon front wing
550cm carbon front wing
330cm carbon rear wing
225cm carbon rear wing
This is a faster foil set yet it is still stable and easy to use at lower speed as well.
Starboard Race foil is the 95cm mast with 115cm fuselage with the 800cm2 front wing and 225cm2 rear wing. This setup is optimized for going upwind and downwind.
Starboard Ultra is the 95cm mast with the 75cm fuselage with the 550cm2 front wing and the 225cm2 rear wing. This setup is the fastest foil set for moderate and strong winds.
Starboard GT is the 95cm mast with the 75cm fuselage with the 550cm2 front wing and the 330cm2 rear wing. This setup is for easier takeoff in lighter winds and more stability for freeriding.
Starboard Slalom is the 95cm mast with the 75cm fuselage with the 550cm2 front wing and the 330cm2 rear wing. This setup slightly slower than the Ultra as the Slalom uses the bigger rear foil for stability, still plenty quick.
